Cat Dash game reference

A reference for the rules and goals that are actually in Cat Dash: 100 puzzles, nine cat styles, stars and progress milestones.

Applies to Cat Dash 1.3.0 · Updated October 10, 2026

For the first move and controls, start with How to play. This reference explains how the levels are grouped and what your choices change.

How the levels progress

Every cat has a fixed exit direction. Removing a free cat can open a path for another. Early puzzles use a 7×7 board; later groups use 8×8 and 9×9 boards with more cats and longer sequences of unblocking.

Level groups from the current puzzle pack
LevelsBoardCatsUnblocking layers
1–37×77–83
4–107×76–84
11–208×88–114
21–408×89–115
41–609×911–145
61–809×912–146
81–1009×912–147

“Unblocking layers” counts waves of cats that become free as blockers leave. It describes the layout, not a promised completion time. The number of cats varies within a group, and an individual later puzzle may feel easier to you.

Try tracing a blocked cat's path back to a cat that can already leave. There is no countdown. Restart restores the puzzle, while a hint shows one available exit without moving the cat for you.

Stars and replays

Stars awarded after a successful clear
ResultRequirement
3 starsNo blocked moves and no hints.
2 starsThe three-star condition was not met, and there was at most one blocked move. Hints are allowed.
1 starTwo blocked moves, followed by a successful clear.

A third blocked move ends the attempt. An unsuccessful attempt does not erase an earlier best result. Replaying a cleared level can improve its stars; a lower-scoring replay does not reduce the saved best. There are up to 300 stars across 100 levels.

Nine cat styles, one set of rules

All nine styles are selectable in Cat friends. They change the cats' appearance and expressions, not their speed, exit direction or collision rules. Add or remove styles from your team; at least one style must remain. A changed selection applies to the next new board or a restart.

The small personality labels in the catalog describe the artwork. There are no hidden strength bonuses, rarity rolls or paid cat unlocks.

Milestones from your existing progress

Local progress goals
MilestoneRequirement
First escapeClear one level.
Finding a rhythmClear 10 levels.
Halfway homeClear 50 levels.
All cats homeClear all 100 levels.
Perfect pawsEarn three stars on 10 levels.

View your milestones in Progress & settings. They are calculated from your local best-star records, so an imported save can already meet a goal. The game does not invent an achievement date or compare your record with a worldwide leaderboard.

Scenes and results

The background changes every three levels: levels 1–3 share the first scene, 4–6 share the second, and so on. Level 100 has its own final scene, making 34 illustrated scenes in total. A scene is decoration; it does not change which exit is blocked.

After a clear, use the result controls to share, copy the result or download a card. The link points to the normal game homepage, without your save. These are player-shared local results, not certified leaderboard records. Keep a backup if you want to move your actual progress.
