1.3.0 — Keep the puzzle you are playing
- Current-puzzle saves now include the remaining cats, hearts, mistakes and hints alongside your level records, cat teams and settings.
- Progress & settings adds backup downloads, checked import previews, a pre-import safety copy and save-status feedback.
- One game tab at a time owns automatic saving. Other tabs can play and export without overwriting it. If the browser lacks the required safe-saving feature, the game explains that automatic saving is unavailable while keeping play and export available.
- Reduce motion, local progress milestones and an optional fullscreen control bring useful settings together. Fullscreen appears only where supported.
- Completed puzzles can produce a result card or a copied result. You choose whether to share it; your full save is not included.
- New saving, troubleshooting and reference pages explain the features, and a media page collects accurate game facts.
Existing saves: earlier unlocked levels, best stars, teams and sound choices are preserved. Earlier versions did not record a partly completed board, so the new version cannot recover those missing moves. Download a backup before replacing progress or moving browsers. Read the saving guide.
1.2.3 — Clearer analytics information
The privacy notice now describes the Cloudflare Web Analytics script used on the public website. Page and performance measurements are separate from locally stored game saves.
1.2.2 — Sound that is easier to control
New visitors can start sound with their first game interaction. Existing muted preferences remain muted. The button now says Sound On, Off or Retry, audio files can retry after a load failure, and old effects waiting to load are cancelled when sound is muted or the page goes into the background. See sound troubleshooting.
1.2.0–1.2.1 — Public game information
Added readable instructions, contact details, site information and policy pages around the playable game. The following maintenance update added site-verification files without adding displayed advertising.
1.1.1 — Smooth exits and the public launch
Fixed a timing problem that could make a tapped cat disappear instead of visibly sliding off the board. The public version brought 100 puzzles, nine cat styles, 34 scenes, music and sound effects to catescapegame.com.
If a change does not match what you see, include your game version when reporting the issue. The current version is available in Progress & settings.
