Cat Dash troubleshooting
Start with the symptom below. Keep the game open and protect your progress before clearing data or switching browsers.
Applies to Cat Dash 1.3.0 · Updated October 10, 2026
The cats or board will not load
- Check your connection and leave the page open while the game files load.
- If the loading message offers Try again, use that button to retry the game assets.
- If a game is already playable, check its save status or download a backup before refreshing. A failed save means a refresh may lose the open tab's latest changes.
- Use an updated browser with JavaScript enabled. If a content blocker reports a blocked game file, review its setting for this site.
Do not start by clearing all browser data. That can erase the record you are trying to protect. An installed, offline version is not provided; the game loads its files from the website.
There is no music or an effect is missing
On a new visit, sound starts after a game interaction. Sound Off means a muted preference is active; select it once to turn sound on. A mute saved by an older version is preserved. If the button says Sound Retry, tap it to retry the audio files.
If Sound On is showing, check the browser tab's mute control, your device volume and the selected speaker or headphones. Returning from another tab may require another game interaction. Audio pauses in the background. Loading failures do not prevent you from playing the puzzle.
For persistent trouble, report whether music, movement sounds, or both are missing, and the exact Sound button state. There is no need to delete your save to test sound.
Progress did not save or two tabs disagree
Open Progress & settings and read the save status. If saving failed, use Download backup while the desired game is still open.
- Another game tab owns autosave: only one tab can write the save. Export any different progress you want to keep, close the other game tab, then choose Save again in this one.
- The stored game changed: after protecting this tab with a backup, choose Use latest browser save and confirm Use latest. The two records are not merged.
- This browser cannot reserve safe autosave: the browser feature needed to protect simultaneous tab writes is unavailable. Keep the tab open and export a backup. Use a supported current browser for automatic saving and restoration.
- Storage is unavailable or a write failed: check this site's storage permission and available browser storage, then try Save again.
If you changed browser, profile or device, restore a downloaded backup in a browser that can safely save; there is no account-based synchronization. Read how saving access moves between tabs.
For a rejected backup file, keep the original file intact and check the preview message. Selecting a file does not authorize replacement. See the restore steps and safety-copy rules.
A cat does not move
A cat exits in the direction its head faces. Any other cat on the straight line between that head and the board edge blocks it. A blocked attempt costs a heart. Use Hint to highlight a currently clear exit, or consult the play guide.
Tap or click any part of the cat once; dragging is not required. Close an open dialog before using the board. For keyboard play, open Keyboard play, focus a cat button with Tab, and use Enter or Space.
If movement is uncomfortable, open Progress & settings and select Reduce motion. Otherwise the game follows the device's reduced-motion preference. Fullscreen is offered only when the browser supports it.
Send a useful issue report
Include the level, device and browser, what you expected, what happened, and the steps needed to repeat it. A cropped screenshot can help show which cat was involved.
Copy diagnostics in Progress & settings provides a visible, local preview before you copy it. It contains the game version, platform, level, save/connection/motion status and a small set of recent game events. It does not contain your full save or a unique player ID and is not sent automatically. Review it before pasting it into an email to yoosenjet@luxenastudio.com.
